Monkey River, in Southern Belize and about 30 minutes by boat from Placencia, is one of Belize’s major rivers. It’s also the name of the village bordering it – with a mostly Creole population. You can cruise down the river to spot birds, crocodiles or howler monkeys. You can also make a stop along the banks and hike into the rainforest for more sightings. Afterwards, stop by the village for a walk and a Belizean lunch.
