2018 Work Updates and News: From Content Creation for Caribbean Tourism Boards to Editorial Clients, Upcoming Guidebooks, and An Exciting Travel Media Conference

I’ve had this work update post in mind for three months now. Life has been very, very busy, and 2017 was epic. The Dominican Republic has been my base now for three solid years. But this past year, I’ve enjoyed having a less-nomadic lifestyle, dealing more with messy closets than suitcases, writing from the same lovely apartment all year for the first time in ages (though, of course, I still traveled for work), and having a wonderful, supportive partner.

I’ve posted little here over the last year, but ironically, it was my most productive and successful year in travel media yet. I also dedicated plenty of time to nurturing my new, second blog on the Dominican Repulic, DRVisitor.com.

This year? Things are looking great as well.

Postcards from Curaçao and Work Updates

I cannot believe it has been (dare I say it) three months since my last update! That is definitely a first for this blog. But when I look back at how busy life and work have been this year–since I returned to be based in the Dominican Republic–I realize the old saying is true. No news is often good news. And in my case, it’s all great, both personal and workwise.

But first, wait! I’m writing this update right now from the bright, beautiful city of Willemstad, capital of Curaçao. Part of Dutch territory, Curaçao is far south of the Caribbean, outside the hurricane belt, with neighbors such as Aruba, Bonaire, and down further, Venezuela.
