Postcard of The Week: A Year Ago in Barton Creek, Belize

It was exactly this time last year that I was offered the opportunity to be the next MatadorU Belize Road Warrior – writing, blogging and photographing my way through Belize for three whole months. I remember the excitement and anticipation, not to mention the amount of packing effort that was involved (ha!) in getting ready to fly out on July 7.

Those of you who followed along on my adventures in the Jewel may remember.

It’s amazing how time flies. This postcard is from one of my numerous favorite moments in Belize last year, canoeing at Barton Creek.

As I head out today into a long week off to spend with family (though I will be sneaking in work), I wish all Americans a happy Fourth of July!
