What a month! As you can guess, I’ve been in the trenches working on Destination Belize Magazine–editing articles and collaborating with McNab Designs and the Belize tourism Industry Association over the past month. It’s been a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to see the final product.
In the meantime, I’ve also had the honor of being interviewed in various outlets. A big thank you to Wandering Educators for this glowing review of Moon Belize (my latest edition, released December 2015). Editor Jessie Voigts says, in part:
“What I love about this book is the depth of Girma’s knowledge. Whether it is diving, accommodations, what to eat, or even how it feels to be there, she’s a masterful travel writer who can both entice and inform. As with all Moon Guides, the recommendations are also split out by cost, so you’re not reading about something and then discovering it is WAY more than you can afford. All the photos were taken by Girma, and show another side of her that I appreciate – that of the visual learner. This is the best guidebook I’ve ever seen about Belize, and one of my favorite guidebooks ever. I dare you to read this and NOT plan a trip to Belize.”
I also did an expat interview with Up In The Air Life, an upscale tour company that takes travelers to places such as Colombia, Brazil and Thailand. You can read it here.
Meanwhile, stay tuned for late August when I will be releasing information on my first Sun & Stilettos customized, cultural tour to the Caribbean–starting with the Dominican Republic in February 2017. I will have all the trip cost details and activities info at that time. To stay informed first, be sure to sign up for the mailing list. If you’d like to join the secret group on Facebook, drop me a message.
Have a wonderful rest of the summer.
