Publication Updates: From Delta Sky Magazine to Go Dominican Republic

Being on the road in the DR while researching and writing Moon Dominican Republic has left me with little time for pitching–yet I’ve been blessed with a few writing opportunities for print publications.

Here’s what’s coming up the pipeline:

*A feature article (2,500 words) on Punta Cana for Here & Beyond Magazine, a travel trade publication (October 2015);

*A feature article for Delta Sky Magazine (in Despegando, Sky’s spanish version) on Montego Bay, Jamaica (October 2015); and

*A highlight piece on the Dominican Republic (about 700 words, part of an islands round up) in The Sunday Times >>

Travel Magazine (December 2015).

I’ll share the PDFs and links for all the above when I get them.

* It was wonderful to see my Instagram efforts rewarded last week–I’ve been posting multiple times daily from

the DR since March, sharing my travels while working on my Moon DR guidebook. Go Dominican Republic, the country’s tourism board, shared my DR images and IG feed on September 18 with 300,000 of their social media followers, both on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks GoDomRep! There’s much more to come, so if you’re not already, be sure to join me over on IG and on YouTube.

* My Jamaica Guide for AFAR Magazine has been updated with new entries. You can view it online, as always.

* You can catch up on my monthly articles for Viator Travel’s Things To Do blogs on various Caribbean destinations, including Jamaica, the DR, Martinique, Belize and Guadeloupe.

Last but not least, I had an interview with TV Montana–Constanza’s local channel–last week while visiting the lovely mountainous, agricultural town. It was fun to sit in a TV studio and share my experiences exploring the DR, as well as my thoughts on Constanza and DR tourism. It was my first official live TV interview in Spanish. I’ll share the link once it’s available online.

I hope you enjoyed these updates. I’m facing an incredibly busy few months ahead doing a bit more exploration southwest of the DR, and tons of writing to complete the guidebook by end of February. But feel free to reach out anytime if you have feedback or tips or just want to drop me a note.
