My thanks to ComplexD Magazine for featuring my Caribbean travels and photography this month in their “Island” issue.
When the editor contacted me a month ago expressing interest in writing about my story of going from corporate America to freelance travel photography and writing, I agreed. But I don’t think I really absorbed that “feature” meant 16 whole pages! Thanks, ComplexD – I relived my travels and walked down a wonderful lane of memories that began with my leap from desk to outdoors three years ago.
ComplexD is a bi-monthly fashion and lifestyle publication out of the UK, for “women of all shades, shapes and sizes.” The current issue, Island, touches on Caribbean culture, lifestyle and profiles of women who have made the Caribbean their home. The editor’s goal is to show that there’s more to this part of the world than sand and blue skies. I couldn’t agree more and I hope it inspires others to travel to this corner of the universe to see its vibrancy – from Jamaica (no it’s not dangerous!) to Grenada, Belize (yes it’s part of the Caribbean!) and more.
Go to ComplexD Magazine’s website to read the Island issue as well as the feature on my travels and photography – entitled “Corporate to Caribbean” – from page 102 through 129.
